Key findings from our GDPR awareness survey
GDPR is a reality that will be upon us from May 2018 and is the biggest shakeup of Data Protection laws since the introduction of the Data Protection Act in 1998.
Liquid Friday has conducted some independent research on the level of GDPR awareness and readiness within the recruitment industry, by surveying agencies.
Here is a summary of our key findings:
A third of agencies who took part said they had little or no understanding of GDPR and their obligations within the law.
83% of respondents were unaware of what their steps should be in preparing for GDPR.
Just half of those questioned currently have a policy for the handling, processing and destruction of data.
Only 40% said they were aware of and prepared for the new requirement for Private companies to report any and all breaches of Data Protection to the Information Commissioner Office form May 2018.
Just 50% of respondents are planning on updating their privacy policy in line with GDPR.
