Back to homeschooling – 5 of the best online resources
With a further national lockdown announced, parents across the country are once again grappling with homeschooling their youngsters. We feel your pain!
Several of the Liquid Friday team are working parents themselves, so to help you through, we’ve pulled together some of the most useful educational resources for homeschooling, or at least for keeping the little ones entertained.
We’ve chosen sites which are easy to navigate, offer activities at home which support remote teaching and keep young brains occupied for at least 30 minutes!
Here are 5 of our favourites:
BBC Bitesize - free
Covering primary age all the way up to 16+, BBC Bitesize is split into three categories, so there is something for everyone, with content supported by activities, videos and tests.
Natural History Museum - free
Take a virtual tour with David Attendborugh around this magnificent old museum and benefit from a range of downloadable activities and lesson plans. We especially love the Dino Directory!
Cosmic Kids - 14 day free trial
Yoga and mindfulness classes for children aged 3 and over. Lead by the friendly Jaime, who tells stories through yoga poses, including the likes of Frozen and Moana!
Orchard Toys - free
A range of free, printable worksheets and activities, with everything from numeracy and literacy to craft ideas, colouring sheets and recipes.
Twinkl - first month free
A huge of teacher-created planning and assessment materials and teaching resources, for both primary and secondary-aged children, user friendly and easy to print worksheets.
You’ve got this!
We hope this has given you some ideas and inspiration! Best of luck with having the kids at home, you’re all doing a great job 🙂
